Vincente Cortez Quiroz, a Mexican national, falsely claimed citizenship on federal forms to buy specialized firearms with custom engraving and gold embellishments. He said they were collectibles for an investment.Vicente Cortez Quiroz, a Mexican national, pleaded guilty to buying and receiving guns unlawfully from firearms dealers from May 16, 2023 through March 2025 after lying that he was a U.S. citizen on federal forms from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. A 37-year-old man who bought 124 guns in Oregon during the past 12 years while falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen on federal firearms forms was sentenced Thursday to a year and a half in federal prison.
