A Busy and Impactful Visit to the Coos Bay-North Bend Rotary Club!

District Governor Chris Waugh enjoyed a wonderful visit with the Coos Bay-North Bend Rotary Club on December 8th and 9th, experiencing their renowned hospitality and vibrant service spirit.

The visit began with a warm welcome the evening before their meeting, as Co-President Heidi Proett hosted a social dinner at her home for several club members. The fellowship over a delicious meal of minestrone, lasagna, garlic bread, and salad was a perfect start.

The club meets at the Ko-Kwel (formerly Mill) Casino under the dynamic leadership of Co-Presidents Amy Bailey and Heidi Proett. A highlight of the meeting was DG Waugh presenting the club with a Rotary International award in recognition of their significant Polio Plus contributions for the 2024-25 year.

The club is growing strong, having recently inducted four new members all under the age of 50! The energy is focused on major community projects, including their signature events: Cruz the Coos, the Festival of Trees, and the Wine Walk. December is an especially hectic and impactful month for this active group. Furthermore, they are developing a brand-new park by the airport, demonstrating a lasting commitment to community enhancement.

Conversation also turned to the future of Rotary, discussing how to meet member expectations and leverage tools like AI to make administrative tasks easier and more efficient.

It was an inspiring visit with a club deeply invested in fellowship, growth, and serving the Bay Area with tremendous dedication. Thank you for the warm welcome!
