Description

The Legislature voted overwhelming in favor of a temporary moratorium on tax breaks for new data centers in places like Hillsboro. Data centers are still eligible for new tax breaks in other parts of the state.

Oregon lawmakers overwhelmingly approved a one-year moratorium on data centers’ eligibility for one major property tax break this week, the first time the state has taken steps to rein in incentives for the industry.
