Cash App's parent company will pay Oregon $3.1 million as part of a $45 million multistate settlement over allegations the company sacrificed identity verification and fraud prevention in pursuit of rapid growth.

Block Inc., the company behind Cash App, will pay $45 million to settle allegations from 46 states, including Oregon, that it misled customers about how safe their money was and failed to protect users from fraud, Attorney General Dan Rayfield announced Wednesday.
