U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents increasingly rely on apps that pull and analyze commercially bought personal data and government records, making it easier to track people down. An Oregon bill is hoping to restrict some of the data flow.

When U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents want to find out where people live, work, travel or go about their daily life, they often no longer need a warrant or a judge’s approval.
