Description

Representatives of Oregon police and sheriff's agencies, corrections officers, probation and regulatory officers have begun reviewing ongoing state certification training requirements, marking the first comprehensive review since the requirements were adopted in 2015.

An Oregon sheriff sharply criticized the state’s annual training requirements for law enforcement officers, arguing that the current system allows officers to simply “check a box” without demonstrating actual skill development.
