The Oregon Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 186th Infantry Regiment hosted a Norwegian Foot March June 8, 2025, in Medford, Oregon, bringing together 101 military personnel and civilians for the historic 18.6-mile endurance challenge that dates back to 1915. Participants carried 24-pound rucksacks while testing their ability to remain combat-ready after the demanding march, with the event serving as a fitting tribute to the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary. The successful community event demonstrated joint service cooperation and strengthened ties between the National Guard and local residents, with top finishers receiving awards from local military recruiters.
