DEQ release - Portland, OR — The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, as part of the Pacific States/British Columbia Oil Spill Task Force, will participate in the task force’s annual meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. via Zoom. The meeting is open to the public. The purpose of the meeting is to allow task force members to share updates on issues in spill prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. The meeting agenda features updates from member agencies on these ongoing efforts. DEQ will highlight its Emergency Response Program, which tracks thousands of oil and hazardous material spills per year and provides cleanup guidance to protect public health and the environment. As a case study, DEQ will also share details from recent incidents, demonstrating the program’s responses in action. To attend, please complete the Zoom Registration form. About the Oil Spill Task Force: The task force is an organization comprised of representatives from state and provincial environmental agencies in the Pacific coastal area.
