The Trump administration recently announced that it will not impose tariffs on as much as 660 million pounds of ground beef coming into the U.S. He says he wants to lower prices for American consumers, but the move will significantly affect the bottom line for many ranchers across the country.

Since July, cattle prices have fallen dramatically, and groups like the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association have voiced their opposition to change.

Diana Wirth is the president of OCA and owner of Meadow Lake Ranch in Klamath Falls. She joins us to share what this recent change will mean for ranchers in Oregon.
