ODFW release - ODFW’s Marine Resources Program staff encourages you to consider applying to become a member of the Ocean Policy Advisory Council. Three seats will be open, representing: North Coast Commercial ocean fisheries; North Coast Recreational ocean fisheries; South Coast Recreational ocean fisheries. The Ocean Policy Advisory Council (Council) is the state’s legislatively established stakeholder advisory council. The Council’s role is to steward the Territorial Sea Plan and provide advice to the Governor, State Land Board, state agencies, and local governments on specific ocean resources management issues. Appointed Council members serve four-year terms, with a maximum of two terms of service eligibility. Expectations for Council participation include attending a minimum of two Council meetings per year, as scheduled by Council leadership. The application process is coordinated through an electronic submission process using the Workday website. The nominees would then be selected by the Governor’s Office and nominated for appointment via senate confirmation. Submission of an application via Workday: Interested individuals may apply to the Office of Executive Appointments using Workday (online submission link). Applications are due by June 20, 2025. Applicants must complete a basic application that tells the Governor’s Office about you, your background and why you want to participate on the Council. A resume and short personal statement describing your interest in serving on the Council must be included in the application. Please visit the State of Oregon Boards and Commissions Website to view additional information that may be helpful in your application process. The https://www.oregonocean.info website provides background information on the Council and access to view recent meeting recordings and materials. Questions about work of the Council: If you have any questions or would like to meet to talk about this opportunity further, please do not hesitate to contact Andy Lanier at [email protected] or 503-206-2291.
