Opinion: Restore Lincoln statue to its original perch

Description

The Abraham Lincoln statue, pictured here in 2014, stood in the South Park Blocks for 93 years before protesters toppled it in 2020. Although the city is preparing to reinstall the statue, it plans to place it on a much lower pedestal — changing the meaning of the art and ignoring public sentiment, the authors write.
