Description

May 26, 2026 — Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) and many of its creators have been honored by the Telly Awards, a long-running program recognizing excellence in video and television production. The winners were selected from 13,000 entries across six continents and all 50 states.

The Telly Awards recognize work that has been created on behalf of a client, for a specific brand and/or company, or self-directed as a creative endeavor. OPB’s 2026 Telly Award winners reflect the news organization’s creative innovation, strong cinematography and production craft, and thoughtful storytelling over the past year.

“From beautifully portraying Indigenous perspectives of Sasquatch, to taking viewers behind the scenes of one of Oregon’s longest-running arts and music festivals, to exploring the origins of America’s first feature-length film made entirely in American Sign Language, the OPB creators who won 2026 Telly Awards exemplify OPB’s mission to connect people across the Pacific Northwest through the power of a shared story,” said Jason Potts, OPB senior vice president and chief content officer.

OPB’s 2026 Telly Award Winners

Guardian of the Land,” an “Oregon Experience” production, received three awards. Director LaRonn Katchia won a Gold Telly in the Craft-Directing category. The film won a Silver Telly in the General-History category and a Silver Telly in the Craft-Use of Music category.

“The Oregon Country Fair,: Magic in the Woods” an “Oregon Art Beat” production, received a Gold Telly in the General-Documentary category.

Living History,” an “Oregon Experience” short documentary format, received a Silver Telly in the Series-History category.

The Making of ‘Deafula,’” an “Oregon Experience” production, received a Silver Telly in the General-Accessibility & Inclusion category.

Crystal Ligori received a Silver Telly in the Craft-Voice Acting & Narration category for “Oregon’s rise to cheese greatness” from OPB’s “Superabundant” series.

The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens. Founded in 1979 to honor local, regional and cable television commercials, with non-broadcast video and TV programming added soon after, the award has evolved with the rise of digital video to include branded content, documentary, social media, immersive video and more. The judging panel includes more than 250 executives from the television, production and streaming industries.
