Description

A freshman from California gets his first start in his home state, on Halloween night, at the Coliseum, with the No. 2 ranking on the line. Ryan Day has named Luke Fahey Ohio State’s starting quarterback for Saturday’s game at USC, picking him over five-star sophomore Tavien St. Clair. Fahey replaces Julian Sayin, who threw for 2,007 yards and 19 touchdowns before an arm injury at Indiana sidelined him indefinitely. The Buckeyes (6-1, 4-0 Big Ten) are rested after a bye and still have plenty of talent around their new quarterback, led by Jeremiah Smith, who is averaging 140.6 receiving yards per game.
