Description

ODCC release - Our Fall derelict gear recovery effort is now underway, and we need your help.

If you spot derelict crab gear on the water or have information about lost gear locations, please report it to the Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission as soon as possible. Timely reporting helps permitted derelict gear vessels target recovery efforts and remove gear that could otherwise pose risks and litter our waters. Report derelict gear to the ODCC: 541-267-5810 or [email protected]. Below are a list of participating vessels and the area they are recovering in: • F/V Lodestar – Travis Davis – Astoria; • F/V Richard H – Mark Kemmish – Newport; • F/V Contender – Mark Towle – Coos Bay North; • F/V Last Dance – Steely Saye– Coos Bay South; • F/V Alice Faye – Joel Purkey – Port Orford; • F/V Lady Louise – John Terebesi– Brookings. Thank you to the fishermen participating in this effort and to everyone who takes the time to report lost gear. Working together, we can help keep Oregon's waters clean and reduce marine mammal entanglement risks.
