Officials issued evacuation orders Thursday after a fast-growing wildfire broke out about seven miles west of the city of Culver in Central Oregon.

The Flat Fire, located in Jefferson County south of the Three Rivers and Grandview area, is estimated to be about 200 acres.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office issued Level 3 — Go Now! — evacuation orders for residents living in the Lake Billy Chinook 5 Black area, including those east of Southwest Grandview Loop and west of the Lake Billy Chinook Airport.

People living north of Geneva Road and south of Southwest Graham Road are also being told to leave their homes immediately. Level 2 and 1 evacuation orders are also in place.

According to the Crooked River Ranch Fire and Rescue, there are no evacuation orders for Crooked River Ranch as of Thursday night.

Multiple resources are responding to the fire, including air support.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
