
SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. - The National Weather Service has issued a new Severe Thunderstorm Warning for a large portion of Siskiyou County as severe weather moves through.The new warning covers Siskiyou County and Klamath County in Oregon.According to the National Weather Service, the storm moving across Siskiyou County is capable of generating winds up to 60 miles per hour and quarter-sized hail.

Inside the warning zone, officials say there are approximately 788 people and two schools.The new warning will be in effect until 6 p.m. on Wednesday.-------------------------------------------------(ORIGINAL STORY)The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning along the Highway 97 corridor near the California/Oregon border.In a post made to social media, the NWS says that storms moving through the area northeast of Weed along Highway 97 up to Dorris are capable of creating 60 mile per hour winds and dropping pea-sized hail.

According to the NWS, there are approximately 2,345 people and eight schools in the warning zone that could be impacted by the severe weather.Officials say that the Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday night.
