Tuesday, August 4, 2026 is a National Night Out for law enforcement. It’s an event intended to bring officers and community citizens together to talk about policing our communities 24-hours a day, seven-days a week, and not giving up the night to wayward individuals. Locally, Eastside Neighborhood Watch is hosting an event at the Eastside Park, D & E Streets off 5th Ave., 5 to 8 p.m., “giveaways, fire truck demo, music, kid’s activities, and more. National Night Out also includes Reedsport, 5-7 p.m., at Lions Park. Coquille’s National Night Out is from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Community Building, 115 No. Birch St., BBQ, swim, music, skate, games & more.
