Description

Curtis Prescott, 55, speaks while sitting at a table in the common area at St. Johns Village in North Portland in August. After getting sober, Prescott moved into a sleeping pod at the Multnomah County-funded 24/7 shelter. The funding for such services will likely be reduced in the coming fiscal year.

Multnomah County officials expect to have $87 million less to pay for shelters, rent assistance and eviction prevention in the next fiscal year, they told county commissioners Tuesday morning.
