“I come to one basic conclusion, which is the volume and the need and the complexity of the work is far outpacing what our staffing is and our funding,” he said, speaking from his office Thursday, after appearing before the county Board of Commissioners.

Multnomah County District Attorney Nathan Vasquez wants the county to fund 26 new positions in his office despite budget woes that prompted the county to ask the office to propose a 3% budget cut.
