Mountainside players celebrate a score during the Metro League football game between Jesuit and Mountainside on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024 at Jesuit High School.

With its first Metro League football title claimed last week, the burning question would be if Mountainside would be forced to share the honor with Jesuit if it couldn’t close out the league play with a victory.
