Description

The ICE facility in South Portland serves as a processing center for people arrested by federal agents in the Portland area, before they are sent to the detention center in Tacoma. Two thirds of those arrested in Oregon don't have criminal convictions.

A large share of people arrested by immigration agents in Oregon this year have no criminal record and most of those with convictions faced prosecution for nonviolent crimes, new federal data shows.
