Lane Co. SO release - On July 20th at about 7:15pm, LCSO received information about a missing elderly man in Springfield. Family reported the male left on a scooter, without his necessary medication. LCSO deputies and search and rescue personnel responded. Deputies and volunteers used vehicles and drones to aid in the search. At about 8:25pm the man was located along the bike path near the 2100 block of 37th Place. The man was evaluated by paramedics before being reunited with family. In any search, time is of the essence. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office thanks all who helped in this case, especially all the volunteers who make our search & rescue program successful.
