🎶 Rhythms of Heritage, Melodies of Unity 🎶 Willamette Valley Symphony presents its season finale, African Influences: Rhythmic Textures and Diverse Melodies, featuring powerful works by composers of African and Latin American heritage. Enjoy Freddy Vilches’ African/Cuban Symphony, William Grant Still’s Afro-American Symphony, and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Petit Suite de Concert. The concert takes place at the Albany Performing Arts Center, 2100 Elm St SW, with a pre-concert talk 45 minutes before the performance. A second performance will be held in Corvallis from 4-6:30 p.m. the following day at Ashbrook Independent School, also with a pre-concert talk. This moving program celebrates cultural roots and musical storytelling that transcend borders.
