Eligible taxpayers have until July 10, 2026, to file a claim for a refund.

A federal court ruling is opening the door for potentially millions of U.S. taxpayers to file claims for refunds in interest or penalties that they paid after the IRS said they missed filing deadlines during the COVID-19 pandemic years of 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
