A medication commonly prescribed for inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis may offer new hope for people living with severe alopecia areata, according to newly published clinical trial results that found significant hair regrowth among patients who had lost at least half of the hair on their scalp. Researchers said the findings could expand treatment options for a condition that can have lasting emotional and psychological effects, particularly for children and adolescents, NAAF reported.
