Meta Platforms has agreed to pay as much as $16.68 billion and overhaul safeguards for young Facebook and Instagram users to resolve allegations that its platforms encouraged compulsive use among children and teenagers. The proposed agreement, announced Wednesday, must still receive court approval, Reuters reported.
