Jeremy Brown, PharmD: Director of Pharmacy

Jeremy Brown, PharmD, a Coos Bay native, began his pharmacy career after a speaker from the University of Minnesota inspired him to shift his focus from marine biology to pharmacy. His initial interest in marine biology was driven by a desire to study animals for pharmaceutical development, but he found a more direct path to the field through a career as a pharmacist. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Jeremy has a long history in the pharmacy field, starting as a pharmacy cashier and technician with CVS and Rite Aid while completing his undergraduate studies. After graduating, he worked as a float pool pharmacist for Walgreens before taking on a Pharmacy Manager role at Rite Aid in Brunswick, Georgia, in 2010. During his time there, he turned a store around, taking it from the closure list to being one of the most profitable in the district. He then served as a Pharmacy Manager for Walgreens in the same area, where he saw tremendous success, including more than doubling the store’s prescription volume and increasing flu shot averages from 100 to over 1200 in less than two years.

In 2018, Jeremy and his family moved back to Oregon. He started as a staff pharmacist at Walmart in Coos Bay in November 2018 and was promoted to Pharmacy Manager in August 2019, a role he held until October 2021. In October 2021, he transitioned to Bay Area Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist, where he was later promoted to Clinical Operations Supervisor in January 2023.

In April 2025, Jeremy was appointed Director of Pharmacy at Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center, a position that fulfilled a goal he set for himself in 2010. He is excited to lead the team at the new SCHHC Retail Pharmacy, which includes Pharmacist David Zelman and Pharmacy Techs Christina Harner, Sara Baker, and Ashley Conrad.

Jeremy and his wife, Jaclyn, who works as the payroll clerk/human resources coordinator for the Bandon School District, live in Bandon and have three children.
