***Media Release*** Case# S202601703 On October 28th, 2026, at around 7 PM, Coos County Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Coos Bay, near the area of Coos-Sumner Ln, to the report of a dispute taking place. A concerned bystander had called North Coos Dispatch on behalf of one of the involved parties, and reported the incident. The Coos County Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with everyone involved. As a result of their investigation, Katherine Rankin (38) was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree (Domestic), and transported to the Coos County Jail. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

Several Coos County Deputies arrived on scene and began conducting their investigation. As a result of the investigation, Kyle Goddard was arrested for Assault in the Fourth Degree (Domestic), and for resisting arrest. Goddard was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked and held. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
