Measles is resurging in Oregon and across the U.S. as vaccination rates decline. In Oregon, kindergarten vaccination rates dropped from 93% in 2019-20 to just under 91% in 2024-25 —below the 95% herd immunity threshold.

Measles is one of the world’s most contagious viruses, and that’s what makes even a small drop in vaccination rates so dangerous, doctors say.
