Description

Residents packed a city council meeting on Tuesday and called for McMinnville’s mayor, Kim Morris, and the city council to follow the lead of Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Portland and other governments in the region by declaring an official state of emergency over the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

The city of McMinnville issued a statement Thanksgiving week that said aggressive operations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in the area don’t align with its values — but many residents insist the city needs to go further.
