Alix McGinley has been hired by Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center as the new Executive Director of the Southern Coos Health Foundation.

McGinley replaces SCHHC CIO Scott McEachern, who led the Foundation for 10 years before stepping down to take on new roles at the hospital.

McGinley has been a resident of Bandon for nearly 12 years. She and her husband Patrick relocated here from Tucson, Ariz., where her daughter and two grandchildren still reside. Together with their dog Smoosh, Alix and Patrick appreciate the wonderful community in Bandon.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ashford University. In addition, McGinley has over 20 years of extensive experience in leadership positions, including roles as Operations Manager, Regional Management Trainer, and, in Bandon, Sales and Marketing Director for Pacific View Senior Living.

Her journey in nonprofit work began at South Coast Hospice, where she trained volunteers and assisted with fundraising initiatives and events. For the past six years, McGinley has served as a contracted Event and Development Coordinator for the Southern Coos Health Foundation, where she developed her expertise in planning and executing events, fundraising, and engaging with the community.

In October 2024, McGinley took on the role of interim Executive Director for the Southern Coos Health Foundation and was quickly promoted to the permanent Executive Director position. She eagerly embraces this new opportunity to contribute to the success of the organization.

“Working to raise funds for our only local hospital Southern Coos, the same hospital that has saved my mom’s life, holds a special place in my heart,” McGinley said.

McGinley personifies the adage, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life” on a daily basis.

McGinley will report to the Southern Coos Health Foundation Board of Directors, which includes Joseph Bain, president; Mary Wilson, vice-president; Sean Suppes, treasurer; Becky Armistead, secretary; Pam Hansen, SCHD Board liaison; Dr. Hank Holmes, Melinda Torres, and Steve Reber, board members. The CEO of Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center is Raymond Hino.
