FBI photo of the damaged U.S. Border patrol car they say Luis Nino-Moncada had rammed into after six Border Patrol agents had surrounded his car in a medical office parking lot last Thurs., Jan. 8, 2026. The federal car struck was an unoccupied rental car, the FBIsaid.

A federal grand jury late Tuesday afternoon returned a two-count indictment against Luis David Nino-Moncada, the man wounded by a Border Patrol officer last week in the parking lot of a medical office in Southeast Portland.
