Ciedric Royce Broussard, who had been armed with a gun and high on ecstasy, used his girlfriend as a shield as he held her in the bathroom of a home when a state trooper confronted him on Feb. 20, 2023.

An armed man high on ecstasy who used his girlfriend as a human shield during a tense bathroom standoff with police was sentenced Monday to three years and 10 months in prison.
