An Energizing Evening with the Corvallis After 5 Rotary Club! District Governor Chris Waugh had a fantastic visit with the Corvallis After 5 Club on the evening of December 2nd. This dynamic club is the powerhouse behind the renowned Corvallis Half Marathon and 5K. Since its start in 2011, this amazing event has raised over $400,000 for the community, netting $40,000 last year alone! These proceeds allow the club to support health initiatives and contribute to a wide array of local nonprofits. A huge thanks to Bob Hazelton for organizing and Scott Thibert for securing sponsors—a true team effort. The meeting was full of modern energy! When it came time for Happy Bucks, Treasurer Zach Mansee was ready for the digital age, offering to take payments via Zelle, Venmo, or Square. DG Waugh also noted a great best practice: Past President Jennifer Thibert updated the displayed meeting agenda in real-time with discussions and decisions—a brilliant idea for transparency and focus. Club President Angie Gallagher leads with tremendous passion and energy. DG Waugh also spoke with new member Crystal Well, who shared her inspiring path to Rotary. It began with a simple, enthusiastic ask from member Jane Childers—a perfect reminder of an effective technique we can all use: Just Ask! Speaking of Jane, she’s one of the club’s rock stars, having coordinated their first annual Beard & Mustache Contest this year. What fun! It was an evening that showcased innovation, community impact, and the vibrant spirit of Rotary. Well done, Corvallis After 5! #Rotary #Rotary5110 #ServiceAboveSelf #CommunityImpact #Corvallis #JustAskWatch video on Facebook.com
