Description
A man was found dead on Portland’s Eastbank Esplanade after witnesses heard popping noises that sounded like gunshots Wednesday evening, the Portland Police Bureau said.
The witnesses flagged down a police officer on Southeast Madison Street at 8:56 p.m., according to police. The officer called for back-up and soon thereafter found a man dead on the Esplanade’s path.
