A multi-agency major crimes team is investigating the death of a 65-year-old man who died in Multnomah County jail custody on Thursday, the county sheriff’s office said.
The man had a “medical incident” at the downtown Portland Multnomah County Detention Center around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies tried to save the man’s life before paramedics took him to a hospital, where he died Thursday, the sheriff’s office said.
