The deck of the Hawthorne Bridge loomed over the Willamette River on an overcast Tuesday afternoon on Feb. 24, 2026.

Update: As of 5:20 p.m., traffic appeared to be moving freely across the bridge.

Dibartolomeo (56) On February 24th, 2026, Officers from the Bandon Police Department and Deputy S. Converse were dispatched to a residence on Beach Loop Road, South of Bandon, to a report of a violation of a restraining order in progress. Upon arrival, Dominic Dibartolomeo (56) was located on the property in violation of his restraining order and taken into custody. Mr. Dibartolomeo was transported to the Coos County Jail. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
