Description

The proposal, announced Wednesday by Councilors Mitch Green and Angelita Morillo, would apply to about 405 large corporations and would also cut taxes for thousands of small businesses, according to their offices.

A pair of Portland city councilors will seek to dramatically increase the city’s existing, first-of-its kind tax on public companies that pay their chief executives vastly more than they pay an average worker.
