Description
This eclipse’s path of totality will be crossing over the eastern side of Greenland and skirting the coast of Iceland before the shadow makes landfall over northern Spain. Several other European countries will see a near-total eclipse, including the United Kingdom, Belgium, Portugal, France, Italy, Switzerland, Morocco and Algeria. Those in Canada and the Northeastern U.S. will get a tiny bit of the eclipse, though it likely won’t be enough to notice without special equipment. While the Pacific Northwest experienced a total solar eclipse in 2017, the region will not see another one until Aug. 12, 2045, when the path of totality crosses over Northern California.
