Hood River photographer Blaine Franger captured a spectacular spring thunderstorm in the Columbia River Gorge on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from the Hood River area.

Hood River photographer Blaine Franger was getting his kids to bed around 9 p.m. Tuesday when flashes outside the window pulled him onto the deck.
