Gov. Tina Kotek attends a vigil for the Silver Rail Elementary School shooting in Bend, Oregon on Oct. 15, 2026. On Oct. 26, Kotek said she has ordered the state to fast-track school and employment resources to the Bend-LaPine School District.

Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek said she has ordered the state to fast-track school and employment resources to the Bend-LaPine School District, a week and a half after a shooting at a Bend elementary school left four and the shooter dead.
