Description

A sign from the protests that erupted in November after the arrest of two staff members — one current, one former — from the St. Helens School District on charges that they had sexually abused students. Community members alleged that top administrators knew about the complaints and failed to act or alert state authorities and the police. Now, an internal investigation into the incidents has been delayed.

An eagerly anticipated internal investigation into the St. Helens School District’s handling of students’ complaints of educator sexual misconduct is delayed because the investigator needs more time to interview those involved, a spokesperson for the Columbia County district said Friday.
