DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. (28 August 2026) – On August 26, 2026, at approximately 8:18 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Interstate 5 southbound near milepost 127 in Douglas County. The preliminary investigation indicated a black 2009 Toyota Scion TC, operated by Deanndra Elaine Hamlett (25) of Roseburg, was traveling southbound on Interstate 5 when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and rolled over. Hamlett was ejected from the vehicle. The operator of the Scion (Hamlett) was pronounced deceased at the scene. Interstate 5 was impacted for approximately five hours during the on-scene investigation. OSP was assisted by Central Douglas Fire & Rescue and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
