MARION COUNTY, Ore. (27 July 2026) – On Friday, July 24, 2026, at approximately 2:58 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a vehicle-versus-bicycle crash on Highway 99E near milepost 33 in Marion County. The preliminary investigation indicated a gold Ford Expedition, operated by Eduardo Felix Diaz (24) of Woodburn, was traveling northbound on Highway 99E near Cleveland Street in Woodburn when it struck a bicyclist, Howard Roy Hagen (79) of Woodburn, who was attempting to cross the highway. The bicyclist, Hagen, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the Ford, Diaz, was reportedly not injured. Diaz remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The highway was impacted for approximately 4.5 hours during the on-scene investigation. OSP was assisted by the Woodburn Fire District, Woodburn Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
