U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested Jonathan Gamez upon his release from Oregon prison. His sister said he should be given the chance to contest his ICE arrest and possible deportation. “He went and paid his sentence,” she said. “I think he should be given an opportunity to prove the human that he is.”

Jonathan Gamez’s family was waiting outside the Columbia River Correctional Institution in February when he walked out the prison gates as a free man. He had just served a little over a year on a domestic violence conviction.
