Measles cases are approaching 4,000 nationwide, with health officials reporting that 95% occurred among unvaccinated people or those with unknown vaccination status. Here's what we know.

The United States has now recorded more than 3,800 measles cases in 2026, extending the largest surge in decades and surpassing last year’s total by hundreds of infections with months still left in the year.
