Donnie Oliveira, Portland's deputy city administrator for community and economic development, testified Thursday during an oversight hearing on unbudgeted housing funds he disclosed to councilors last November.

Deputy City Administrator Donnie Oliveira told the Portland City Council Thursday that he should have informed councilors sooner about the existence of unbudgeted housing funds that he learned of last summer.

Deputy Mitchell and Deputy Pressly graduated from Basic Police Class BP460 today after 16 weeks of training. Deputy Mitchell served as the class spokesperson at graduation. Deputy Pressly received the Victor G. Atiyeh Outstanding Student Award, selected by students and staff. The award recognizes exceptional professionalism through an exemplary attitude and outstanding achievement in leadership, academics, health & fitness, and survival skills. Both deputies served at the jail and on transport prior to this additional training. From here, they will continue field training on patrol for several more months.
