Description

Portland’s 1383-foot long Hawthorne Bridge is closed Tuesday night due to a malfunction. The bridge was built in 1910 and is one of the city’s busiest bridges.

The Hawthorne Bridge is stuck in the raised position, making it impassable for cars, bikes, buses and pedestrians, Multnomah County officials cautioned Tuesday evening.
