The Bureau of Labor Statistics released a monthly report that showed the cost of groceries was flat from August to September, but were up year-over year. (Getty Images)

While grocery prices are higher than they were a year ago, Americans didn’t feel an extra pinch in September. Data released last week by the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows overall grocery prices were up just 0.1% last month.
