Gov. Tina Kotek has asked leaders at the Oregon Health & Science University to shut down its nationally renowned primate research center, joining a yearslong push by animal rights activists.

Senate Bill 243-1, which was added to a placeholder bill and posted online Wednesday, includes four major changes.

The full extent of death, injury and destruction was not immediately clear — particularly in Myanmar, one of the world’s poorest countries.

Dentists and health organization warn removing fluoride will lead to medical problems that disproportionately affect low-income communities.

Environmentalists have vehemently fought similar proposals in the past.

“It’s quite the spree,” a sergeant said. “It’s not a coincidence based on the timeline and drive times.”

The University of Oregon athletic department put its support behind the bill, while Oregon State's AD pushed back on some aspects.

The victim told officers she had experienced “many domestic violence incidents” during their marriage and finally divorced her husband, but he refused to move out.

Investigators said they believe he died under “suspicious circumstances.”

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has not confirmed whether a person detained at the Northwest ICE Processing Center escaped.
